Blurb

Brandon Gilbert has spent years in hiding, but he’s finally accomplished his dream of working as a public school teacher. When offered the chance to help bullied children, there was no way he could say no. Not to mention that meeting Dr. Tash Weber, the psychiatrist who helps them, a sad yet sexy older man, ignited a spark inside Brandon he’d never had before.

Though five years have passed since the death of his lover, Dr. Sebastian "Tash" Weber has no interest in relationships or love. But young, enigmatic Brandon awakens his heart and his desire. Despite Tash’s best efforts to push him away, Brandon unlocks the passion for life Tash thought he’d lost forever.

Falling in love wasn’t part of the plan for either Brandon or Tash, but neither family disapproval nor self-doubts can stop them from embracing the fire that burns between them. And when Brandon returns home to fight for a future he never imagined possible, he and Tash discover that the one thing worth fighting for has been with them all along.

NB This is a re-release and has been extensively re-edited and revised with almost 10k words of additional content added.

5 out of 5 (exceptional)

Embrace the Fire is the third book in the Through Hell and Back series, and we finally find out what has happened to Brandon. Through fate, friends, and maybe a dash of serendipity, Brandon finds himself at the shelter that was set up after Keith was murdered. Brandon is so close to meeting Ash and Luke, and yet Felice Stevens keeps us on tenterhooks until the perfect time. There is lots of closure needed for Brandon, Ash, and Luke, especially when Brandon's fears come to light. Luke also has to learn that Brandon is now an adult, and is perfectly capable of making his own decisions, whilst Brandon has to learn to accept the love in which advice is given to him. Tash has his own battles to fight, with his fears and vulnerabilities excellently described. His sister also has her say, which causes its own problems. I think that Tash and Brandon's relationship is sometimes overshadowed by Brandon and his brothers, but this is only temporary, and is necessary to the story.

This is fantastically written, and certainly pulls at your heartstrings in Felice's inimitable style. With no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, this book is a perfect end to the foster brothers' stories. Love all of these stories, and Felice Stevens goes from strength to strength. Definitely recommended by me.

I have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending around the corner, My characters have to work for it, however. Like life in NYC, nothing comes easy and that includes love, but getting there is oh so fun and oh so sexy.

I live in New York City with my husband and two children. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass (or two of red wine). I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there are bound to be a few bumps along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.

REVIEW TOUR & #GIVEAWAY - Shift (Wolves of Hunters Rock #1) by Shelley Grayson

Blurb

Someone's killing werewolves.

Lukas Vance finds a list of towns, and in each one he discovers a murdered 19-year-old who smells almost like pack even though he knows they can't be related to him. He reaches the next town on the list before the killer, determined to get the intended victim out of this situation alive. When he catches the familiar pack scent and sees the guy it belongs to, Lukas wants to do so much more than protect him.

Chris Keenan doesn't know why gorgeous, broody Lukas thinks he's in danger. Lukas says he wants to keep him safe, and when Chris freaks out Lukas is the only one able to calm him down. Chris has been feeling off for a while, and whatever's causing that seems to be related to the list of towns and the murderer who's made him a target. Instead of going to the police, Chris puts his trust in Lukas. But even with Lukas protecting him, figuring out what's wrong with him may be the last thing Chris ever does.

Shift is a 98,000-word novel for people who want some gay shifter romance inside their urban fantasy, ensemble cast adventure.

Paperback: Amazon US | Amazon UK

5 out of 5 (exceptional)

Shift is the first book in the Wolves of Hunters Rock series, and introduces us to a pair of brothers, Lukas and Griffin. Now, they have both received anonymous letters on their car windshields and, upon investigation, they find dead bodies. These bodies smell mostly like Pack, but there is something else too, something wrong. Lukas is the first one who finds someone who isn't dead, although Chris sometimes wishes he was due to his panic attacks. With Griffin, Albert, Lukas, and Chris, the story really starts, and definitely gives you something to get your teeth into.

WOW! What a story! What an introduction! This book is so full of outstanding characters it is hard to say which one had the bigger spot in my heart! I loved all of them for different reasons, although I will say that I shed more than a tear or two for Tad (no spoilers).

This is more of a mystery romance, and I love it for that. Our two main males seem to understand quite easily that being on the road with two or more others isn't exactly the right time to take the attraction between them any further. So the tension is high, and the race is against the clock and the mysterious unknown.

The writing is excellent, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow. The pace is smooth and full of tension in the right places. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and can't wait to read more of the Hunters Rock wolves. Just one thing... be careful of those B12 vitamins!!! Absolutely recommended!

Shelley Grayson grew up on a riverbank in a microscopic town, and now lives in a slightly bigger town with a rescue cat she didn't really want and now can't imagine life without. When she's not writing, she's wishing her daughter's college wasn't so far away. If she's not wearing her glasses, she probably won't recognize you, even if you plop down in her lap. “We need to talk to Stephanie.” Vergas’s voice softened. He remained silent while running a hand through his hair.

“If you want, I can call the salon and see when she’d be available to talk to us.”

His stomach tightened. He didn’t answer her, as his thoughts focused on Stephanie. Glancing in the rearview mirror, he skirted into the right lane.

“I’ll make the call. Ryan, she’s not a suspect, as of today, but you need to—”

“I know what I need to do, Vergas,” he snapped. He flexed his fingers gripping the steering wheel several times, then rubbed the back of his neck. “I’m sorry. I’ll talk to her as soon as I can.” He exited the highway and entered the concrete jungle, putting them a block from the salon. Taught muscles screamed for relaxation.

“Is that why you’ve been quiet?” Vergas’s calm kept his frustration at bay.

“Yeah.” City traffic and lights held his focus. He wasn’t in the mood to talk. Monica got the hint, and for that he was thankful.

This development had him realizing his feelings for Stephanie were more concrete than he’d originally thought. His stomach sank. They couldn’t rule Stephanie out as a possible suspect. She owned the salon. Like her brother, she could easily be involved in illegal activities. Ryan couldn’t believe she’d be like her brother. Yet, she did have a connection to the wealthy through her parents. Surely, they belonged to the same clubs and groups as many of their victims. Maybe she was involved.

4 out of 5 (very good)

Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

This was a pretty great read. It has fun characters, sexy scenes, a little suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat, and a great romance. I don’t believe much else makes for a great read! The two main characters had a good relationship, had some fun banter back and forth, with some sassiness.

I think the details and descriptions were on par for the story.  They weren’t fantastic or mind blowing but I don’t think they were lacking in any way nor did they not provide enough to paint a picture to see what was going on. Sometimes that picture might have been just slightly blurry, but that cleared up really fast.

My biggest issue with the story is it started kind of slow. Now, it’s possible, that it wasn’t slow and it was just my reading at that time. Since our reviews are based on whole numbers, I felt I needed to bump it down to a four, but really would prefer it to have a 4.5.  It took me a couple of days to really want to get into the story and once I was far enough in, there was no stopping.  The story really took off and I couldn’t pull myself away from reading it. So, be that as it may, regarding a slow start, take it with a grain of salt and give this book a shot.  There is a darn good chance you’re really going to enjoy reading the story.

Holy Sexy Alpha Male batman!!! This book was so incredible! You can’t go wrong with a sexy alpha male who is attracted to a girl with curves! This was like my dream book. I really can’t say enough good about this story line.
It’s been a while since I’ve read a good book with an alpha male who growls and who gets what he wants. This book was exactly that. It also had a great female lead character that was self conscious, was incredibly smart, but incredibly determined to do what she had planned all her life for. The meeting of these two was written incredibly well. It was like a fairy tale of sorts. It was sweet and feisty. It was growly and swoon worthy.

There was absolutely no lack of detail in this story. There was no question what was going on in the story line. The author did a great job explaining and detailing out what the scenery was, describing the characters, and for this story, most importantly, the art. I’m not much of an art fan myself, but the way that the author described the pieces of art, it made me want to go visit an art museum. I think having the ability to make a reader want to actually see some of the paintings or even branch out and visit and art museum is pretty top notch in my books.

Would I recommend this book to you? Without a doubt! It was an absolute great read and the story line flowed very well. It was a bit of a longer book so it didn’t end too quickly. The story wasn’t lacking, there were really no details untold, the story line was complete and ended well.  It was a well rounded story with great characters and great interaction. It was an absolute enjoyable read and one that I wouldn’t mind reading again. Definitely grab your copy today and get to reading.
